Tyre & Breakdown Controller 


Dawsongroup vans ltd is part of Dawsongroup plc, a national provider of commercial vehicle rental and contract hire solutions, operating from a network of strategically positioned depots across the UK.



Due to our continued success we are looking for a Tyre & Breakdown Controller to join our vans business based out of our Stockton on Tees depot.

 To ensure tyre replacement is carried out efficiently and cost effectively without adversely affecting safety standards or customer acceptability. 

Key Features of this role are:

  • To identify premature wear of tyres on customers vehicle and to manage the tyre department in a cost effective and efficient way
  • Develop new ideas for process and procedures
  • Tyre policy - recommend and maintain a flexible tyre policy, bearing in mind the quality of product and service, and geographical factors
  • keep aware of any technical developments and price changes
  • Authorising tyre related repairs or replacements by official order numbers
  • Ensuring every opportunity is taken to improve process, including training depot staff
  • Secure and orderly maintenance of the DGV depot tyre storage bay
  • Visiting suppliers and negotiate terms  
  • Maintaining Health & Safety policies
  • Any additional duties as required



The successful candidate will:

  • Have minimum 2 year's experience within a tyre distribution industry
  • Technical knowledge
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety policies


This position is subject to the candidate holding a full, valid UK driving licence
