Menzies Distribution Ltd have a rare opportunity for a Transport Supervisor to join our team. Based out of our state-of-the-art 165,000 sq. ft media distribution hub at Imperial Park in Coventry, you will play a vital role in overseeing and coordinating the planning of routes and schedules, ensuring collections and deliveries reach their destinations safely, on time and in the most cost-effective manner.

You will have oversight of a fleet of 45+ vehicles, trailers and employees and it will be your responsibility to ensure our kit is compliant with legislations, vehicle maintenance schedules are regularly audited, and our drivers are expertly managed.

From day one, you will provide ongoing support to the team, championing a variety of continuous improvement initiatives ranging from operational compliance to standard operating procedures. You will manifest a culture of excellence resulting in your team achieving challenging efficiency targets and recognition for operational excellence.

  • Ensure all drivers report and record vehicle defects
  • Ensure drivers hours regulations are adhered to
  • Work closely with stakeholders to drive forward continuous improvement initiatives and foster an environment of enhanced productivity
  • Support the management of our client’s end-to-end transport requirements
  • Maximise the performance of the operation and act as a key point of contact for the transport team
  • Contribute positively to KPI performance targets and the identification of change initiatives
  • Provide 24-hour incident support relating to operational system failure, investigate and address and communicate updates in order to deliver the required standards and minimise impact on our reputation
  • Proactive management of health and safety ensuring employee wellbeing in accordance with Company guidelines
  • Manage and maintain the Transport fleet ensuring that all associated operations are compliant and meet legal requirements
  • Continue to review proposed and forthcoming changes to legislation and best practice


  1. A proven experience of managing employees and customers in a transport environment
  2. Professional and efficient approach to challenging situations
  3. Experience of successful people management
  4. Detailed understanding of relevant legislations in transport and health & safety
  5. Ability to prioritise, manage a varied workload and support in decision making
