Transport Route Planner & Fleet Supervisor - Tilbury - VR/19164

Our client in Tilbury, Essex are seeking a Transport Route Planner & Fleet Supervisor to join their team on a 10 week temp to perm basis.

£10.50 per hour ( 28,000 per year when taken on full time)

Working for an international shipping expert and freight forwarder, you will be required to carry out the following.

Main duties:

  • Responsible for coordinating drivers and assisting with delivery and collection enquiries
  • Managing bookings and route planning - multi-drop, groupage & full loads (manually)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Responsible for liaising with and managing drivers
  • Produce accurate administrative/transport documentation
  • Experience of Pallet Network
  • Excellent understanding of UK transport legislation
  • Knowledge of pallet allowance/loading metre allowance on trailer loads
  • Excellent Knowledge of UK road network

The Skills and Experience required:

  • Candidates should have experience with transport planning for Class 1 & 2 drivers and be able to communicate well with drivers
  • Good all-round IT skills
  • Must be able to work within a team
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Experience of Pallet Network
  • Excellent understanding of UK transport legislation
  • Understanding of fleet management and understanding of how to maintain company 'O' licence
  • Liaising with fleet service department to ensure vehicles are inspected at appropriate times and damage reported correctly.

Working hours are Monday to Friday with 2 alternate shifts 8am to 6pm and 10.30am to 8.30pm.
