The Company & Role of Customs Supervisor:

Our client is one of the worlds leading logistics companies, and they are currently looking to recruit a Customers Supervisor for their team in Northampton. The successful candidate must have customers and supervisory experience.

Duties of the Customs Supervisor:

Proactively supervise the customs department effectively
Effectively manage the day to day operations of the department in the absence of the Customs Manager
Ensuring compliance of standard operating procedures for Customs & AEO processes
Responding to requests for customs services providing effective & efficient solutions to facilitate adherence to operational & service deadlines
Collaboration with internal customers to maximise synergies & promote cross team, branch interactions & communications
Direct liaison with the Customs Manager, customers & Customs authorities such as HMRC & other agencies including, but not limited to, Border Force & DEFRA
Support HMRC AEO audits, internal AEO monitoring activities & HMRC assurance events
Support the department to resolve day to day issues and queries
Absence management & recording

Requirements for the Customs Supervisor:

Good knowledge of Third country customs regulations
Good comprehension of Customs procedures & formalities
Knowledge of & familiarity with UK CHIEF system & proprietary software systems
Familiar with Microsoft Office programs & DataFreight - Desirable
An awareness of global geography
Leadership skills with proven track record
Excellent problem solving & analysis skills
Attention to detail & high levels of accuracy
Excellent communication skills -
Supportive & coaching capabilities
