Customs Compliance Officer - VR/20924

The Company & Role

Our client is a well-known Freight Forwarder and Warehousing company, with an emphasis on beers, wines and spirits trade as well as general cargo.

They are looking for a Customs Compliance Officer to ensure my client is handling bonded cargo correctly as well as overseeing AEO compliance.


Duties :

proactively oversee the customs operations effectively
effectively manage the day to day operations of the department in the absence of the Bond Manager
Ensuring compliance of standard operating procedures for Customs & AEO processes
Responding to requests for customs services providing effective & efficient solutions to facilitate adherence to operational & service deadlines
Direct liaison with the Bond Manager, customers & Customs authorities such as HMRC & other agencies including, but not limited to, Border Force & DEFRA
Support HMRC AEO audits, internal AEO monitoring activities & HMRC assurance events
Support the department to resolve day to day issues and queries

Requirements
Good knowledge of all country customs regulations
Good comprehension of Customs procedures & formalities
Knowledge of & familiarity with UK CHIEF system & proprietary software systems
An awareness of global geography
Leadership skills with proven track record
Excellent problem solving & analysis skills
Supportive & coaching capabilities
